Maurits Cornelis Escher, más conocido como M. C. Escher (Leeuwarden Países Bajos, 17 de junio de 1898 – Baarn Holanda, 27 de marzo de 1972), artista holandés, conocido por sus grabados en madera, xilografías y litografías que tratan sobre figuras imposibles, teselaciones y mundos imaginarios.
Su obra experimenta con diversos métodos de representar (en dibujos de 2 ó 3 dimensiones) espacios paradójicos que desafían a los modos habituales de representación.

Estoy interesado en este artista holandés por su íntima relación con las matemáticas. Sus perturbadores dibujos, cómo el que se presenta en el artículo, dónde del agua siempre fluye (ascendiendo y descendiendo), son imposible de fabricar, pero evidentemente son posibles de representar matemáticamente, de ahí que podamos dibujarlo.
Nos acerca a la geometría fractal, un contenido tratado en theNEURON. Podemos ver iteraciones de formas geométricas, particiones del espacio tendiendo al infinito, de esta manera el autor trata de ayudarnos a concebir conceptos tan abstractos como el infinito.
El señor Escher, es otro claro ejemplo de cómo las matemáticas pueden ser un exquisito arte, junto con la astronomía, astrofísica, física de partículas. Para mí, vuelvo ha recopilar evidencias que las matemáticas son el lenguaje de Dios, permitiendo las descripción del universo, desde el aleteo de una mariposa, pasando al cerebro humando y acabando en el Big Bang.
Para mí, este artista, me ayuda a concebir conceptos como la quasi simetría especular del universo. Los físicos nos ilustran sobre la esencia de la materia, ésta debe tener lo que se llaman antimateria, es que casi totalmente simétrica a la materia pero en otra dimensión.

I am interested in this Dutch artist for his close relationship with mathematics. Its disturbing pictures, such as that presented in the article, where the water always flows (ascending and descending) are impossible to make, but it clearly is possible to represent mathematically, so that we can draw it.
We approach the fractal geometry, a treaty theNEURON content. We can see iterations of geometric forms, partitions, space tends to infinity, so the author tries to help us conceive abstract concepts such as infinity.
Mr. Escher is another clear example of how mathematics can be an exquisite art, along with astronomy, astrophysics, particle physics. For me, I have collected evidence that mathematics is the language of God, allowing the description of the universe, from the flapping of a butterfly, going to the brain humando and ending in the Big Bang.
For me, the artist, help me to conceive of concepts such as quasi specular symmetry of the universe. Physicists, we illustrate the essence of matter, it must have what is called antimatter, which is almost symmetrical to the area but in another dimension.
